Morocco Expedition

Morocco

How about getting to know Morocco? Join me and Lufe, two photographers bringing the best the country has to offer. Medinas, skouks, colours, scents, deserts and a lot of stories. Come and travel with us to this beautiful land through our lenses.

We tried the rich Moroccan food; we got lost in the medinas; we went deep in the country; we stayed at 400-year-old riads and Berber houses; we were amazed by the craft skills of Moroccans; and met wonderful people.

Get a glimpse on what’s to come!

Why did we choose Morocco?

We are constantly looking for travel bargains: Latin America, Eastern Europe, Morocco, Tunisia, Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa, Central Asia, India and Southeast Asia.

Morocco has plenty to offer. Culture, food, architecture, history and natural beauties. Moroccan dirham and country’s low cost of living have lead the destination to be a great cost-benefit for tourists. Plus, it is a short ride from hub airports such as Madrid, Paris and Lisbon.

The itinerary

We started and ended our trip in Marrakech after doing a loop: Marrakech, Asni, Ait Benhaddou, Tazanakht, Erg Chigaga, Mhamid, Tamegroute, Skoura, Sidi Flah, Kelaat M’Gouna, Ait Gmat, Bou Thrarar, Tinghir, Merzouga, Khemliya, Erg Chebbi, Fez, Chefchaouen and Asilah.

Partners

This trip would not be the same without our partners; that’s why I want to mention them. All of them have been chosen one by one. This is the outcome of months of hard work.

Viver a Viagem chooses its partners based on the quality, cultural experience and accessibility. Anyone can get in touch and stay with them.

Kasbah Tebi – 400-year-old clay kasbah inside Ait Benhaddou;
Wild Morocco – tour agent focused on Erg Chigaga desert;
Dar Es Salam – beatiful 300-year-old kasbah in Skoura;
Kasbah Ben Ali – a great kasbah in the middle of the Rose Valley;
Desert Luxury Camp – a charming luxury camp at Erg Chebbi desert;
Dar Roumana – a wonderful and restored riad in Fez;
Culture Vulture – Jessica takes you to know the skilled artisans of Fez;

Riad Idrissy – a beatiful riad in the heart of Fez;
Dar Les Cigognes – a great riad in Marrakech;

And of course, you are our biggest partner. It is because of your positive feedback we continue to do what we love the most: exploring the wold and sharing it.

Who are we?

If you already follow Viver a Viagem I am quite sure you are familiar with my photography. Either commissioned to a magazine or talking to an old lady into the mountains, I love bringing stories and different perspectives.

If this is your first time, start here, and get to know a little about the website. Viver a Viagem was born from my passion on photography and writing about cultural experiences.

Life by Lufe is the wonderful photography project of Lufe Gomes, in which he seeks out-of-the-box houses and decor around the world. Places that are singular for reflecting in each detail the personality of those who live there. He is always looking for inspiration and on how people live.

More than decoration, the project shows creative styles and lessons learnt from people that surround us.
